I ordered this 12/30/2011 and paid $250 for it. It worked for a few months--not heavy use, we had a warm winter so perhaps five days a week, 3 hours a day.The fan motor burned out. I'm fairly confident, although not certain, that the company knew it had a fan motor problem with its heaters at the time they sold it to me.Anyway, when we got in touch with the company, they told us that the fan motor was defective and offered us two options. One, they send us the part for about $15 including shipping or I send them the heater and pay them $49. They described the fan motor replacement as simple. It is not simple. I couldn't figure it out, even by talking their customer service person on the phone. Its motor, housing etc. is designed to be replaced by a service technician and has a warning on the exterior that taking the back off will invalidate the warranty.So this week, we'll send the unit back, and pay the $49, but before you order a Biosmart heater, I would check other Biosmart product reviews. None of them have a high rating.We needed another infrared heater this year, so ordered a Duraflame Livingston. It had high reviews. So far it has worked great.
