I had two infrared heaters in my house, (one was Heatstorm brand) and yes, they do work very well as far as providing heat, but here are the downfalls- they use SO much electric my bill doubled (the box claims its less than $1/day - dont believe it.)....when the heater kicks on all the lights in the house go dim because it draws so much energy, and most importantly, make sure your wiring can handle this, plug them directly into a grounded outlet. Both of mine had melted plugs right at the outlet. This is not something that happened in one night, it slowly melted over the course of months, and these heaters were not on 24/7, they were only used occasionally as supplemental heat. I felt compelled to write this review out of hope that it could help prevent a devastating fire and possible death of people and pets- this is NOT worth the risk!!!
